when an old client brought us a new brand, we hit the ground rolling.

our much beloved client took his talents to the Santiago Calatrava-designed Oculus where he had a big project that needed doing yesterday. so he called the watsons.

a whirl of
a holiday campaign.

the Oculus was launching 'Winter Whirl', a new holiday event that would allow new yorkers the opportunity to roller skate amidst a winter wonderland, right on the main concourse of the legendary building. with the holidays quickly approaching and the rink still under constructions, we watsons needed to act fast on a campaign that would build awareness of this inaugaral event and motivate new yorkers to get their skate on.


the result? a multi-channel campaign, including out of home video units, social media, and digital display. the ads depicted new yorkers of all kinds enjoying a skate under the iconic winter-white beams and cool-blue lights of this architectual wonder. and we watsons did a whirl of our own in creating the campaign—which required a detail-heavy photo and video shoot—in an impressive three weeks. we rocked, they rolled.


the campaign garnered big numbers on the rink and in the shops, in addition to being featured on many 'what to do in new york' lists.

our partnership has resulted in continued creative collabs for events like the Taste of the Oculus and One World Observatory promotions—in addition to way finding and new store opening signage and nyc and tourist-targeted campaigns.
